1982 dub

Sunday

Aux Armes

A small portrait on glass of legendary
Jamaican Dee-Jay, Big Youth.
This was painted as a wedding present
for some friends who tied the knot a couple years ago.
Right on time.
While dropping the painting off in Ventura,
I got to see them as parents for the first time.

The paintings on glass are done on the reverse side
and are also painted in "reverse". . .
Starting with shadows and highlights -
or in this case, grey whiskers -
and finishing with the background.

Here's a brief live clip. . .
Performing "Z-90 Skank"
KILLERRRRRR.
